Airport strike. We landed on Monday morning but couldn't leave the plane because there were no stairs. After 11 hours on that plane there were no stairs to walk down. Then the stairs came. But no bus to take us to the terminal. A bus came but only the business class passengers got to deplane. Thank god for corporate travel. We were met by an escort and expedited through customs...I like travelling with my boss, bulletproof cars, no lines and people to carry my bags. They really take care of me these latin men, doors are opened, my hand is held as I exit the van and my glass of wine is always full (please refrain from making comments)
Yesterday we partied it up and watched an amazing Tango show. I was mesmerized, they were absolutely breathtaking, I felt as thought I was being let into a secret world, during some parts I actually blushed from watching the subtle sensuality. I could have stayed all night. I was tired this morning. Fortunately we spent the afternoon on a field trip with the Argentinian sales force so we got out into the fresh air and I managed to charge 85 pesos of competitor's candy onto my corporate card at a local Wal Mart Supercentre.
Winter in Argentina isn't that cold, although apparently its 'unseasonably warm' right now. Its 15 or so degrees...I keep laughing at all the people with their scarfs and wool coats.
The agenda is packed...I almost feel like I'm back at an AIESEC conference...except for the 2 hour pre dinner working break I'm currently experiencing. I'm presenting tomorrow, I feel like I should be running around in the OC office, but we finished everything weeks ago...its a strange feeling being ready so far in advance.
So I'm alive and well and made it to Buenos Aires okay, I'm reachable via my work cell phone only, the other one doesn't work outside the US. I'll be back home on Saturday morning. Cheers!
