I AM THE MUSIC MAN....

The last week has been full of reminders of my MC year. After only 3 months, its like I forgot what it was like to be on the MC...preparing for conferences, LCs always calling, hanging out with trainees, singing silly songs in the office...everything.

I'm now in Helsinki and spending time with my third MC in two weeks. Its been a little hectic, meetings, meetings, meetings..but it feels good to be really settling in my role now. Also, after missing IC, I was starting to miss the warm fuzzy AIESEC feelings, but this trip has brought it all back.

My time in Oslo last week was wonderful and ended with a great night on friday. Following a wonderful dinner with Marianne and Rolf from Norsk Hydro (and a couple of bottles of wine). I went to a newies party held by the VPTN of AIESEC Oslo. I'm still totally amazed and excited by the commonality of AIESEC around the world. The party was great, lots of people, even Kristin and Heidi were there, it reminded me alot of last year, trying to explain in a non confusing manner to a new member what AI is and what it means to work for AIESEC at this level.

After a very, very late night, I got up at 5.30am to catch my flight to Helsinki and was met at the airport by Edi. Seeing Edi in Finland (although it might make alot of sense) was a little weird, in the sense that I never thought I would EVER spend time in Finnish land with him :) It was nice to spend time with someone familiar, who knows me and with whom I can just be me and not have to play these get to know you games and politeness. We spent the weekend sightseeing and among other things ran into some odd German guys.

The rest of the week in Helsinki was great. The highlight of ENTIRE trip being the Helsinki trainee roll call (pissing finns, moy moy, sauna sauna, lake lake) that I had the pleasure of viewing on Monday night!!

Wow, two weeks in Scandanavia..I love it here. Most importantly, the people I have stayed with have all been amazing hosts, to Mark, Marianne and Heidi, thank you!! and to the Danish, Norwegian and Finnish MCs, thanks for letting me take over your office space :)

I'm now about to take off you the airport and go back to Rotterdam...I miss my team, it'll be good to see them again.
